Favourite Song’s of the Week!!

April 30th 2008 08:40

Favourite Song’s of the Week!!

* Rage Against the Machine – ‘Killing in the Name’ of the 1993 self titled album.
I just love everything about this song, I have been listening to this song a lot lately (LOUDLY, esp. the last bit) specifically because my next door neighbours wake me up virtually every weekend at 7-8am, so a little revenge is sweet.

Favourite Bit = 4.12 – 5.00…….Lots of “Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me” (great stuff)

* The Beatles – ‘A Day in the Life’ of the 1967 album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’
Probably one of my absolute favourite Beatles tracks

Favourite bit = .13 – 1.50

I Got My P's!!!! i Got My P's!!!!

My Everyday Car!
My Everyday Car!!!

After beeing on my Losers for what seemed like forever.. I finally got my P's today, it was very exciting.
So I went to Five Dock RTA, had to wait forever! Then the old dude called me over, the test was meant to go for 45 mins, but only went for about 1/2 an hour which was good for me, did the reverse park and kerbside stop with no drama's.

And I got 100%, so fellow driver's beware, there is another P-Plater on the road..

Happy Driving everyone!!

Worst Sequels Ever!!

April 28th 2008 07:21

Some movies are so great that they spawn sequels, to further the story, characters or quite simply to rake in the moolah, but when is enough enough, I thought I would compile a list of the worst (trashiest, Crapo) sequels ever.
In no particular order:

* Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights
It was a travesty that a sequel was made to sully the bad name of the Dirty Dancing franchise. Where was the ‘Dirty Dancing’ in Havana Nights or any dancing for that matter? The coming of age story was as painful as a doco about grass.
And im going to get personal now the two lead protagonists were dreadful, Diego Luna as what’s his name who cares and Romola Garai as generic American girl Katey Miller, they were both incredibly terribly bad, like Paris Hilton acting bad. My favourite bit? When it ended!

* I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
Like most people I spend my summers murdering and burying fishermen, and having them come after me, it’s really quite a nuisance.
While its predecessor did not win any Oscars, it was at least worth its admission price, and offered some general scares, my dog knew what was going to happen in the second film, and by far the scariest thing in the sequel was Jennifer Love Hewitts singing. Worst decision ever killing SMG and Ryan Phillippe.

* Batman and Robin
The films biggest setback is Mr George Clooney as Batman/ Bruce Wayne who I find as charming as Mike Meyers in his Austin Powers getup. To this day my favourite Batmen have been Val Kilmer and Christian Bale, but I don’t even think either actor could have saved the pitiful ‘Batman and Robin’, it smells from miles away.
It was hard to decide what was more ridiculous, Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy (the green chick), Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr Freeze or Alicia Silverstone as the totally cool, kick ass and highly original named Batgirl. Ill leave you with an excerpt of the award winning dialogue: "Hi Freeze, I'm Batman"
Batman: “But why would Ivy be helping Freeze?” Robin: “Well she's definitely evil” ………..hmm you don’t say.

* Scary Movie 2
The first was funny, the 3rd mildly funny I never saw the rest. The second film in the Scary Movie franchise went beyond unfunny and bordered on lunacy. Absolute (pardon my French) SHIT!! Any movie with Tori Spelling in the billing is a big tip off as to the trash your about to witness. (and for that matter same goes with Carmen Electra, once you see her name in the credits you know the exact type of porno, I mean movie your about to see i.e. Meet the Spartans, and any other generic teen movie where she flashes her tata’s.)

*Scream 2 and 3
The only saving grace for the second installment of the Scream Trilogy was SMG yet another run of the mill slasher drama, Im surprised there hasn’t been a Scream 4 where the dudes dog from the first film comes to murder Sidney, wouldn’t that be original?
Scream 3, well ill play nice and just say it was crap.

*The Godfather III
I actually have to say that the third Godfather has my absolute favourite scene from all the three films; I loved the steps scene, where Sofia Coppola was punished for her bad acting. The music, the acting, Andy Garcia’s hair, everything!!. Everybody else on the other hand calls The Godfather III a travesty to its predecessors and rightly so, from the uncharacteristic behavior of Michael Corleone, to the kissing cousins in the famous gnocchi scene which is likened to the famous spinning wheel/pottery scene from Ghost, I won’t even get into the dialogue.

* Shrek the third
Quite simply a big disappointment after the first two hilarious films, while there were some funny lines/moments, the story felt contrived and overall very weak.

*Speed 2
Nuff said!!!!!

Last night I saw Australian band Operator Please at the Metro Theatre….Free!! (Um, even though I think the tickets were about $20-30) My friend Felicity managed to get on the guest list so that was pretty cool. We weren’t particularly keen on seeing the support bands so we watched ‘Prom Night’ which ill be reviewing later on this week, but the movie wasn’t really long so we caught the last song of ‘Flamingo Crash’ and we sat through the entire set of ‘Little Red

Going on the net today I shrieked (rather loudly) when I saw the video on the Et website with behind the scenes on the set of Twilight, for months now, after fans of the books had found out a feature film was to be made we had been holding out breath for new pictures and a really good video of the cast.... And now we have one!!!

So for fans and those that are not. Enjoy

Some of my favourite bands/artists have not had any new songs or albums out in the past couple of years, leading me to do a little digging to find out what is on the horizon for my favourite music artists.
