Cinema Voyage - Michael Pearson

This blog is PRIMARILY about movies. Some dvd and some that are still in the theater. Also, links are provided on some movies if you decide you want to purchase it. Also, I write and read quite a bit. So, you may, from time to time see a book review here from an up-and-coming author or an interview with one. If you have a book that you have written, please don't hesitate to contact me if you want an unbiased opinion. I would be happy to read and review what you've written. We should value our creative people more.

Cinema Voyage - December 2010

The Funniest Viral Video of 2010

December 28th 2010 02:34

This video showcases the talent of the two kids who created it. (They are in the video later on.)
Background:
A man breaks into a woman's room and attempts to rape her but is scared away by her brother. This was a news story, but has been modified by some incredibly creative, and talented, people. My hat's off to them.

Included is their music video, which can be downloaded from iTunes, and the original news broadcast just to show how talented these kids were.

The young man in the video has now appeared on CBS News, MTV, and BET. This video which started as a joke has now moved this one young man and his family out of the projects and into a 4 bedroom home. Very happy for them all.

Review:
I think I have not laughed that hard at something in many years. It is a short video. Enjoy.

Apologies

December 25th 2010 06:45
My apologies to those who read this blog on a regular basis. I know that I have not had an update in a few days. It will be as such for a few MORE days. Myself, my wife, and my daughter all have the flu and we are, pretty much, taking care of each other.

That, notwithstanding, I would like to wish each and every one of you Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Happy Kwanzza. Happy Hanukkah. And, even if you don't believe in or celebrate any of those things, I would like to wish you and yours happiness and joy today and for the many days to come.

Take care, all of you. I promise, I will be back as soon as I feel better. Probably a few more days though.

Indiana Jones

The Complete Adventures

Ever since the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) the rumor mill has been pounding about the possibility of a fifth movie. Evidently, discussions concerning that film are underway and, in this one, Harrison wants Indy to die and pass the hat on to his son.

Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones
from: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Showbizspy.com reported that Harrison had the following to say:

“George especially is resisting the notion but Steven is considering it. Funnily enough Harrison wanted the same for Han Solo in the final Star Wars but George put an end to it. This time he doesn’t have all the say though.”

Excuse me? Shia Lebeouf as a replacement? I hope not. He was ok as a kid in Holes and Transformers and is, honestly, becoming a decent actor in his own right, but let's be real! Shia does not have the screen presence to pull off being the next Indiana Jones. Daniel Ratcliff being groomed for James Bond in the future is ok. Such is the nature of the role. However, I can't see myself going to watch a film, in which, the main character is named "Mutt."
So, Indiana did not like the name "Henry" so he named himself after the dog, right? NOW I guess the mother of "Mutt" thought Indy was a "dog" and THERE YOU GO? (Maybe he will want to be named after the dog too?)
Either way, in my opinion, if Indiana is killed off in some heroic scene where he is saving others, great. A good end for a good character. It should be left at THAT. Indy died. Mutt's sad and goes on with life. PLEASE do not don the fedora and go off searching for Yamashita's Gold.

That's my thought on the subject. What do you think? Should Shia replace Harrison or should he just be allowed to die?

Welcome!

December 15th 2010 23:38
Thanks for stopping by this blog, now under new management. I have read some of the posts that the former author has written here, and I will strive to be as concise as the previous author. Before I go much further, I will let you know in advance that there will be, some changes made here as to the direction of the blog.
To me, if a picture is worth 1000 words, than a video is worth thousands more. So, you may see the poster for a movie, but you will also be able to view, in most cases, the trailer as well.
