Cinema Voyage - Michael Pearson

This blog is PRIMARILY about movies. Some dvd and some that are still in the theater. Also, links are provided on some movies if you decide you want to purchase it. Also, I write and read quite a bit. So, you may, from time to time see a book review here from an up-and-coming author or an interview with one. If you have a book that you have written, please don't hesitate to contact me if you want an unbiased opinion. I would be happy to read and review what you've written. We should value our creative people more.

(500) Days Of Summer

May 17th 2009 11:01
Zooey Deschanel's (Yes Man, The Happening) name seems to be synonamous with quirky movies and the September release of (500) Days Of Summer proves to be no different. Starring Zooey as Summer and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Killshot, Stoploss) as Tom, the movie follows a year and a half period upon which the two main leads get to know one another.

Summer does not believe true love exists although Tom has a different take on this as he falls heavily for his colleague on her first day of work. The film jumps back and forth during this set 500 day period giving you glimpses of their relationship in the future and seems to be more creative than the usual boy meets girl story.

Directed by music video director Marc Webb, this movie was well received at the Sundance Festival.

Zooey Deschanel was in The Happening? I haven't checked that one out yet...

You can probably tell from the trailer that the soundtrack is going to be huge as well! Check out this interview with the guys who sing that title track if you haven't already: 500days.com

JD - I haven't seen any of those films you mentioned so will have to hunt them down.

Jason - agree. Great to see a preview which inspires you to watch the film. I can't wait for this one either.

Marc - The Happening didn't do too well at the box office but if you are a Zooey fan then you might enjoy it. Thanks for the link.
