Favourite Animals in the Movies/ Television!
March 28th 2008 04:08
I am a huge animal lover; the following list is a collection of my favourite movie/TV animals live, cartoon or CGI.
* Dory – Finding Nemo
Everybody’s favourite Regal Tang. Ellen DeGeneres is marvellous as Dory, a fish suffering from short term memory loss, who helps Marlin find his lost son Nemo before it’s too late. Dory produces some fabulous one liners;
‘He’s lost his son, Fabio’
‘I wish I could speak whale!’
‘E-S-C-A-P-E, its funny it’s spelt just like the word escape’
* Paul Anka – Gilmore Girls
Lorelai Gilmore’s love for the ‘real’ Paul Anka was the motivation for this Polish Lowland Sheepdog’s quirky name. Paul Anka has a penchant for all things weird, he has a habit of getting into locked cars, locking himself in cars, he is scared of shadows and his front porch steps.
* Andre - Andre
The true story of a seal that a befriended a little girl and her family in the 1960’s. Actually a Sea Lion in the movie, after I saw this movie at 8 years old my next pet was going to be a seal.
* Inspector Rex – Inspector Rex
Obviously I’m very biased because I have a German Shepherd, I just love the breed, although mine isn’t as smart as Rex. Rex functions as a Cadaver dog, sniffer dog and as another set of eyes for his team. Basically when watching Inspector Rex, I care more about Rex than his human counterparts.
* Jinxie – Meet the Parents
Robert De Nero’s highly trained/ gifted Himalayan cat. Has the ability of flushing a toilet despite not having opposable thumbs.
* Babe - Babe
The runt of the litter, he is picked and brought to a farmhouse where he is raised by a sheepdog. He has his heart set on becoming a sheep dog himself.
* Lady and the Tramp – Lady and the Tramp
Lady an adorable Cocker Spaniel and Tramp a mutt modelled on a schnauzer, the pair meet, share a dangerous adventure and eventually fall in love. Who can forget the infamous spaghetti scene.
* Willy – Free Willy
The popular movie about a boy befriending an Orca Whale. To save the life of Willy, Jesse devises a plan to release Willy back into the wild. Where in the triumphant scene Willy jumps over the rocks, over his friend to freedom.
Who are your favourite Animals on the big or small screen??
