Susie Salmon after being brutally raped and murdered by a neighbour watches her family devastated by her death, from heaven.
With longing, and growing understanding, Susie sees her loved ones pass through grief and begin to mend. Her father embarks on a dangerous hunt to catch her killer. Her sister undertakes an act of incredible daring; her mother leaves her husband and moves to California. And the boy Susie cared for moves on, only to find himself at the center of a phenomenal event.
The film version will star Mark Wahlberg (The Departed), Rachel Weisz (The Mummy), Susan Sarandon (Stepmom) and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) as Susie Salmon.
The Lovely Bones is currently scheduled for a March 19, 2009 release.

4. The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, the Third Summer of the Sisterhood and Forever in Blue: The Fourth Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants – Written by Ann Brashares.
The film version will encompass storylines from the three remaining books in the sisterhood of the travelling pants series. The movie will see the return of the four original actresses from the first movie, Alexis Bledel as Lena, Amber Tamblyn as Tibby, Blake Lively as Bridget and America Ferrera as Carmen. Also starring Blythe Danner.
The Sisterhood of the travelling pants 2 is slated for an August 8, 2008 release.
