For me, it's Elizabeth, Audrey, Natalie 1 and you've left out the classic beauty of Ingrid Bergman, the others do not seem to be the natural beauties which the ones I've chosen are, but many are still beautiful girls, but others I would write off as almost ugly.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the classic beauty of Elizabeth Taylor does seem beyond compare.

There's definitely a "look" - a style of eye, if I might be so cheeky - that you like amongst the contemporary younger actors ...
Eliza Dushku, mmmm, and those damn sexy dimples! (BTVS ...??)
Alexis has stunning blue eyes ... very pretty (she's oh so alluring in Sin City).
Kristen Stewart, sultry, definitely one to watch.
Great visage of Angelina, but she doesn't do it for me anymore.
Natalie Portman looks like Audrey Heburn.

I'll agree with most of your starting ones. Personally I think that in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Elizabeth Taylor is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

I don't really get why everyone raves over Audrey Hepburn though, I've always found her a bit overrated.

As for the newer ones, I like the inclusion of Eliza Dushku and Angelina Jolie (though she's doing it for me less and less these days). I can't condone the inclusion of Alexis Bledel though.......simply because she's in that godawful Gilmore Girls!!

Some actresses, I might have included are:
*Catherine Zeta-Jones - I think she's stunningly beautiful
*Halle Berry - please don't ever give her an acting award again, cos noone should be put through THAT speech again, but girlfriend is HOT!
*Renee Russo - I thought she was just absolutely stunning in The Thomas Crown Affair.

Good list though, quite comprehensive with a bit of something for everyone

marilyn monroe is the most beautiful woman ever, in my opinion. Most beautiful actress to ever grace the silver screen: VIVIEN LEIGH. If you haven't heard of her, look her up. She's an actress from the 1930's and 40's. She was breathtaking as Scarlett O' Hara in "Gone With the Wind". Also, to be more recent, the most gorgeous actress alive right now: MICHELLE PFEIFFER. Sure, she's not 26 anymore, and no she doesn't go around asking for attention from the paparazzi, neither does she play sex kittens in movies, but she sure is a stunner. Now if you want a hot modern actress: SCARLETT JOHANSSON. And for an exotic modern one: SANDRA BULLOCK. Now, for an unusual beauty who has a classy and timeless look, but is seldom mentioned in lists like these: EMMY ROSSUM. While I'm at it, another foreign beuty would be: CATHERINE ZETA JONES. I forgot someone very important who deserves to be on this list more than half the actresses who've been mentioned. HEDY LAMARR, in her time, was considered "the most beautiful girl in the world". No joke, they actually gave her the nickname. Again, if you haven't heard of her look her up. She, like Vivien Leigh, was a prominent actress in the 1930's and 40's.

But how are they the most beautiful? If you do a pole you will invariably get the most famous and not the most beautiful. You need to do a comparison pole and compare each actress to each and every other actress regardless of whether the respondent has heard of the person or not

My Co-Worker and I sit around all day, do nothing and get paid for it. We came up with 'our' list so far - which led me onto this list and others. So many names I've forgotten that deserve mention. Sure, the women of yesteryear needed to be more intelligent and 'classy' than today, but todays women need to be tougher to combat the complexity of today. Sadly, I think Hollywood has been 'Fade to Grey' for a few decades now. Thank God for New Zealand, Central-America & Carribean is all I can say <wink>. I think Inrid Bergman is a good example of 'natural' beauty in that if you 'add the makeup' - things just get worse. Audrey Hepburn is a good example of 'civilised' beauty in that you need to add makeup, etc. What about Doris Day - was she 'Natural' or 'Civilised' in her beauty?
I think Marilyn Monroe is the most 'overated' beauty of all time. A red-head that portrayed a blonde is like listening/watching 'dub' movies. I think Elizabeth Taylor still holds the 'Crown' (like Elizabeth Windsor) as the Queen of Hollywood, lets see if she passes the title on before she herself passes on? There is more to 'beauty' than just looks - like presence, appeal, acting quality. Megan Fox just has good looks, but she falls way short upon a Top 10 list of other requirements that come under 'Beauty'. Personally, I liked Liv Tyler's "Elf" role - I thought she was a sweet spot for the film although Victoria Abril could look the part well, if not for her 'risque' roles.

I can think of several that are not on your list that in my opinion blow away most of the ones on your list. Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, Heather Graham, Monica Belluci, Penelope Cruz, Rosario Dawson, Olga Kurylenko, Scarlett Johanson, Jessica Beil, Kate Beckinsale, Kathrine McPhee, Emma Watson, just to name a few that are absolutely gorgeous AND incredibly talented. This list missed the mark by a great deal. there are thousands of beautiful actresses and many more non actresses. you have to take beauty at it's true meaning. i've noticed a number of times little sites of actresses caught without make up and let me tell you some are real dogs. today it is amazing what $500 make up application will do for a woman and these beautiful people listed above spend many times that amount if they're attending an awards show. between botox- breast implants- butt implants- wigs and what ever else they can find to enhance their beauty for the media doesn't count as beauty. the stars of the past, like donna reed-vivien leigh-liz taylor-ingrid bergman-lauren bacall-mitzi gaynor - maureen o'hara all have retained their beauty until late in life. their boobs- butts faces were all natural as for today's actresses cameron diaz- diane lane carmen elecktra- hallie berry all are natural beautiful women. jen aniston could also make the grade. i'm sure i've ruffled some feathers out there but beauty is a gift from above not a gift from a plastic surgeon

Natalie Wood (along with Taylor) were the beautiful women of their time. Others as Greta Garbo, etc, who came long before them were also beauties. The only gal on this I would say even approaches that status is Sarah MichelleGellar - she's more reminiscent of a Sandra Dee, who wasn't "beautiful', but "darling" and "cute" to the extreme. All the guys in the early and mid sixties were wild about her!

Wow, what a bunch of critical a-holes! If you're gonna complain why don't you take some time and see that others have already made your point, numerous times...

I must however, reiterate, this is a top 20 list, not a top 200 list and if these actresses float his boat then all the power to him. I think it's a great list.

To all those who like the golden age actresses, great, wonderful. Be thankful he included some. To all those requesting black and Indian... This. Is. HIS. List!

I don't think my list would include every beautiful girl either. I mean there's a lot of 'em!
Of course some of it will be based on popularity otherwise it would be so obscure others may not appreciate it. Famous is also a turn on.

As well other factors like personality, intelligence, acting ability, sex appeal, attractiveness in either/both face and body and how intersting they seem to be in real life.

THEN, your unique taste in beauty and how important those factors are to YOU combined with your experience and/or knowledge of these actresses will influence your choices.

Something to consider before getting all critcal of someone else's top 20 list.

Definitely Elizabeth Taylor in her youth by a huge margin. She was so beautiful that I can't even draw her. Her eyes make sapphires look like plastic. Her lashes did not need mascara. In her prime, her waist was under 20 inches with an hour glass figure..

Watch her in "a date with Judy", "Cat on a hot tin roof" to do her justice. She had the most beautiful face and eyes I've ever seen and I'm an artist.

1. Some of the newer actresses you picked have no business being on this list. Really? You're going to compare Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Stewart to ELIZABETH TAYLOR?!

2. Am I the only one who noticed that some of these picures do NOT match the actresses listed? That is NOT Kirsten Dunst. That is Kristen Bell, who is significantly more beautiful than Dunst. That is also NOT Michelle Rodriguez... That is Michelle Monaghan and a complete insult. I'm offended. She's not even Latina! And nowhere near as badass as Rodriguez.
