Joss Whedon is back.... Fans rejoice!
I am a huge (bordering on obsession) fan of BTVS, Angel, loved Serenity but never saw an episode of Firefly, Joss Whedon is amazing he could do anything and i would probably watch it.
Dollhouse has been generating quite a bit of buzz, and some are saying it could premiere on Fox as early as late August in the US, no word for us Aussie's but like usual we have to wait forever, I would imagine maybe next year if that.
plot outline
In Dollhouse, Dushku plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as "Actives" or "Dolls" who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They're then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse". The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.
Beyond Dushku's character, the show will also revolve around the people who run the mysterious "Dollhouse" and two other "Dolls", Victor and Sierra, a man and woman who are friendly with Echo. Although the Actives are ostensibly volunteers, the operation is highly illegal and under constant threat from Paul Smith, a determined federal agent who has heard a rumor about the dolls on one end and an insane rogue Active on the other
Me and other fans im sure are hoping for a reunion of sorts in the whedonesque world, id love to see past actors/actresses involved with Joss again, so far we have Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker (Fred on Angel).
Most of the supporting cast have also been announced and they include: Tahmoh Penikett, Dichen Lachman, Fran Kranz, and Enver Gjokaj who have been cast in four principal roles for the show. Olivia Williams would be playing the role of Adelle DeWitt the brains behind the operation. Harry J. Lennix, Miracle Laurie and Amy Acker complete the cast.
so far the only downfall, the chick on Dusku's right Dichen Lachman, you may remember her from Neighbours, good on her for getting a great role under Whedons guidance, but bad for us becasue we have to watch her.
The special effects should be incredible the company (Zoic) behind the effects in Battlestar Galactica anf Firefly.
And the only hours old trailer. Enjoy everyone!!!
